Tell us a little about yourself!
Hello! I’m Amanda, an architect by training. In my current role at a statutory board, I’ve been involved in both facilities and project management, supporting the development, operations, and enhancement of infrastructure assets.
I now focus on policy, governance, and planning— shaping initiatives that promote infrastructure sustainability, establish clear governance structures, strengthen compliance, and support long-term, future-ready development.

What does a typical day look like for you?
On weekdays, I’m in full work mode—jumping between back-to-back meetings, policy discussions, and project check-ins. My calendar is so packed, it sometimes feels like it has a life of its own.
I collaborate with teams, tackle infrastructure planning, and navigate the constant stream of tasks like a professional multitasker.
Weekends are a whole different adventure. I trade my laptop for "masak-masak" and spend time with my energetic 3.5-year-old daughter (she’s the real boss and has more energy than a double espresso), my husband, and our extended family.
We go to church, playground, the outdoors, enjoy family meals, and I attempt to sleep in… although that often depends on whether my daughter agrees! It’s a different kind of busy, but one that fills the heart!
What’s one little thing that instantly lifts your spirits on tough days?
A big hug from my daughter—her energy is like a reset button for my soul!
And of course, a good sleep. Nothing beats the feeling of recharging with a peaceful night’s rest.

Who’s been your biggest support system, and how have they helped?
I’m incredibly grateful for the support I get from my husband and extended family. They help me juggle work and family life, particularly when things get hectic.
From stepping in to look after our daughter when she’s unwell to answering my SOS calls for help, they’ve always been there. They help us find moments for each other or take care of our daughter when we can't take leave. Their support truly makes all the difference in keeping things running smoothly.

How do you usually spend time with your loved ones?
I cherish family meal times the most. There’s something special about gathering around the table, enjoying good food, and simply being together.
We also make it a point to have annual family trips, which create memories that we’ll carry with us for years to come. It’s all about those shared moments and bonding over the simplest things.
Share with us some “mum hacks” that help you get through the day.
Personal me-time! Whether it's a quiet coffee, a quick walk, or even a 10-minute shower escape, those moments of solitude help me recharge.
I also take the occasional day off to pamper myself—sleeping in, doing things I enjoy, or simply relaxing.
It’s these small breaks that keep me sane and ready to handle the chaos.

What values or lessons do you hope to pass on to your child?
I hope to pass on the values of kindness, integrity, and strength to my child, teaching her the importance of living with a heart full of compassion and faith.
Above all, I want her to grow into a godly woman after Christ's heart—someone who walks in grace, makes wise choices, and always strives to serve others. I believe that a strong foundation in faith will guide her through life’s challenges, helping her become someone who shines with love, purpose, and a Christ-like heart.

What drew you to our brand, and what do you love most about our batik pieces?
I first discovered YeoMama Batik at Boutique Fairs a few years ago, and I was immediately drawn to the unique and bold pieces.
My first YeoMama Batik purchase was the Gene Wide Leg Pants in Golden Koi, and dragon shorts (also represents my birth year). I also bought a matching Golden Koi print dress for my daughter, so that I could twin with her during CNY!
What I love most about YeoMama pieces is not only the striking designs but also the incredible cutting that flatters and fits so well. After that, I couldn’t resist buying a few more classic pieces in linen—timeless and easy to wear, while still exuding that same bold elegance.
