We'd love to know more about you. If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Spontaneous, Free Spirited  & Sensitive

You've been an emcee/ hosts for a while now. What initially drew you to this profession?

Back in the day, I was a regular in the Navy. On one occasion, my unit was tasked with organizing an inter-Navy sports event. Being one of the newer crew members aboard, I was “arrowed” to be the emcee.

After the event, we received quite a bit of positive feedback. And as you know, in any self-respecting government organization, if you do something well, you’re likely to be asked to do it again—so, I was "arrowed" for almost every Navy event.

Before I left the service, I did some research and found that this could be a lucrative industry. That’s why I’m here where I am now. Never looked back.

What's the most memorable event you've hosted, and what made it stand out for you?

It has to be the Russ Swift stunt show at the Singapore Motorshow, organized by Motorimage Subaru. It was exhilarating and fun!

I had a great crew to work with as well. The organizers even put people into the boot of the cars while the stunt was being performed. It was awesome!

If you could swap roles with any celebrity for a day, who would it be and what event would you host as them?

Umm~  I don’t really follow showbiz much, but I look up to musicians like Brian McKnight, Ted Swims, and Allen Stone—all kinds of soul singers. It would be amazing to be in their shoes, performing in front of millions of people and being a source of influence.

As a father to an energetic 4-year-old and a 4-month-old baby, how has your perspective on life and work evolved since becoming a dad?

Heh… Firstly, Elizabeth is 3 (not 4)! Hahaha. Life before kids was pretty good you know? I could do as I pleased, go on random holidays, and all that.

It definitely took a huge amount of adjustment once Elizabeth was born. Now, the kids are the priority, so I put them first in everything I do. This also means hustling harder for both my emcee work and my new business startup.

Instinctively when you become a parent, you realize you can’t afford missteps or screw-ups because these little people are depending on you. The satisfaction of being able to give them anything they want is really incomparable. That drives me to be better in every way.

Besides work, what are some things you love doing in your free time?

I really enjoy a good live music performance, ride my motorcycle, and spend quality time with my family and close friends.

You and your wife seem wonderful together. What’s the best piece of relationship advice you’d give to other couples navigating parenthood?

Oh, trust me, it's definitely not easy keeping it all together. We have our fair share of arguments 🤣, but that's also part of our growth.

If there's a piece of advice I could give, it would be for parents or soon-to-be parents to dump all their preconceived notions or expectations of parenthood and take it one step at a time. I know it's hard, but don't compare yourselves to others.

Do what you know and think is best for your wife and kids. Protect your own sanity before all else because if you're down, everyone’s down. So the (not-so) occasional French fries and nuggets, as well as the extra TV or iPad time, is fine. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
