Time to 拜年咯!
With the coronavirus pandemic going on, Chinese New Year celebrations will be a bit different for us this year.
Reunions will be held on a smaller scale, where we’ll be social distancing and spending more time chilling at home. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to dress batikfully for the occasion!
I mean, how else do we dazzle our friends and relatives with our mandatory 初一 #OOTD posts on Instagram?
For our 2021 CNY collection, we decided to forgo our classic Bodycon Cheongsams and opt for more comfortable and casual designs to adapt to the current stay-at-home situation.
Ahead, you’ll find 4 different types of bold, yet comfy outfits, and a bag to bring good fortune for an ox-piscious Lunar New Year.
1. Everyday Batik Dresses
These dresses all have one thing in common - a relaxed silhouette. Not only are they really comfortable, these straight cut and A-line pieces also look professional, perfect for working from home beyond the festive season.
Who says you can only wear new year dresses once?
2. Batik Playsuits and Jumpsuits
Featuring a wide variety of prints, these classy one-piece garments with mandarin collars leave you with plenty of opportunities to be chor lor at home.
3. Matching Batik Outfits
Nothing beats twinning with your loved ones. Get ready to snap lots of insta-worthy photos and turn heads in our coordinated family or couple prints.
P.S. With the Little Bella Batik Bow Dress, your little girl might end up stealing the show – what a cute lil' princess!
4. Batik Shorts (Men’s)
Introducing for the first time ever, Men’s Batik Shorts! Easy to pair with, these shorts are perfect for those who are tired of wearing plain-looking Bermudas.
Time to play mah-jong in style and comfort this new year!
BONUS: Onglai Batik Bag
A batikful get-up is incomplete without an accessory.
Make your CNY visiting extra special this year (and usher in prosperity) with our mandarin orange bags that come in the shape of a pineapple. HUAT AH!
Interested? These are just a few of many designs we have this year, check out the rest of our CNY collection here!
If you’ll like to try for size, swing by our studio or our pop-up store at Tang Plaza. Just for this festive season, we’ll be extending our studio opening hours to 12-7pm daily until 10 Feb 2021.
拜年咯! We hope to see you soon.
P.S. Before the pandemic, we used to fly to Indonesia (where our batik outfits are handmade) to check on production, source for fabric and discuss designs with tailors.
However, ever since travel has been restricted, we have switched up the entire process and have been using WhatsApp to communicate instead.
It’s definitely slower and more tedious, but we’re glad this has not stopped us from delivering these beyeotiful outfits (and bag)!
